I still remember vividly the first time I saw a Campagnolo rear derailleur in real life. It was like looking at an ancient piece of art left by an advanced civilization. Cycling is in the blood in Italy, as is the manufacture of beautiful and functional things.

The companies that survive from the golden age of cycling manufacture very high quality bikes and components, and most are proudly manufactured in Italy. I am a great fan of Campagnolo, Miche, Deda and Vittoria tires and shoes. As this site progresses, I'm looking forward to highlighting these and other Italian companies and sharing reviews and tips.
